The original uBlock extension was created in 2014 by Raymond Hill, founder, author, and lead developer of uBlock Origin, by forking the codebase of HTTP Switchboard with a separate blocking extension, uMatrix, previously designed for advanced users. If ever you really do want to contribute something, think about the people working hard to maintain the filter lists you are using, which were made available to use by all for free.
